These types of subdivisions will put pressure on the existing 'aged' infrastructure of East Launceston. It is also yet another reason Council should consider its role in ensuring that green and recreational areas such as the East Launceston Recreation Ground are preserved. It is apparent and has been for many years that residents in inner city suburbs are at greater risk of poorer physical and mental health outcomes where their lived environments are not strategically managed. You can only squeeze so many people into a designated area! Given recent approved developments in East Launceston (a similar development in Ann Street and a school building on the historic East Launceston Recreation Ground) I do not support this proposal.
