Planning application at 422 Riversdale Road Hawthorn East VIC 3123

It is disgraceful that the obliteration of the heritage of this part of Melbourne is being permitted. Remember the 1960s when demolition was in full swing and the proliferation of hideous cream brick blocks of flats was permitted, in fact, encouraged. Now we are seeing it all over again ! The fact that the developer has applied for a waiver of car parking suggests over development of the site. The bull-dozing of that heritage home in Kew yesterday, which would have needed a permit, illustrates the alarming attitude Council has to preserving the history of Boroondara.
